Did a dozen good axels within my first 30 minutes using the following mental checklist:
- Upright = imagine someone has pulled my hair and therefore body upright
- Shoulder = check the L shoulder is forward
- Toe = take off from my L toe pick
I ALSO need to think about keeping my R arm back – rather than bringing it forward then moving it back again.
So the new checklist really should be: Upright, shoulder, R arm back, toe.
However, when it came to showing my coach my axels, it all fell apart. Oh well.
